What do I need to prepare before my pet travels?

You will need to provide highly updated vaccination records, an adequate supply of their specific regular food (to prevent upset stomachs), any necessary ongoing medications, and their favorite blanket or toy which severely decreases transportation anxiety.

DO'S

  • Always carry an updated vaccination booklet.
  • Bring a sufficient supply of their regular food to prevent an upset stomach.
  • Pack their favorite blanket or toy for psychological comfort.
  • Carry prescribed medications and a basic pet first-aid kit.
  • Bring pee pads and high-absorbency towels.

DONT'S

  • Do not feed a large meal just before travel to avoid motion sickness.
  • Avoid using a new crate or carrier for the first time on travel day.
  • Never leave the pet alone in a parked car.
  • Do not overpack heavy treats or unfamiliar foods.
